Goals are something most of us struggle with, especially when it comes to fitness. Fitness goals are often overwhelming due to lack of understanding, commitment or resources.

Fitness goals are categorized into three phases… general health, complete fitness and specific performance. General health is when an individual understands that proper nutrition and exercise provides a benefit to ones life though they do not put the knowledge into practice. Complete fitness is the application of the knowledge and specific performance is the result of a proper fitness program.

More specifically, general health is a person saying “I know if I eat better and workout regularly I will feel better”. Complete fitness is the application of a three-four day a week workout consistently over a period of time (the American College of Sports Medicine states that a complete fitness program should be maintained for at least three years to achieve “complete fitness”). Specific performance is defined as individual wanting to achieve a specific goal (i.e. running a 5K, win a weigh lifting contest or climb a mountain).

In other words, think about it, do it and apply it.

Weather you need help determining the goal or following through with the program, it is my desire to help.
